INDEX CARDS

7 comments:

  1. Great technique--I want that groovy index card holder! I love these movies. Can't wait for Just Grace #7! Just reread "JG Walks the Dog" with my daughter for the umpteenth time - it holds up very well!

  2. Thanks for the nice compliment! It is groovy indeed.
The next Just Grace Book, "Just Grace and The Terrible Tutu" comes out on Jan. 17th!
    Whoo Hoo! Whoo Hoo!
Oops! Must be an owl here in my studio.:)

  3. Adorable and inspiring. Reminds me of an interview I heard with Lynda Barry yesterday on the Sound of Young America about her process. You might enjoy that! Also, I find Scrivener extremely useful as a tool for writing. And they have fake index cards you can use . . . but I might buy myself some real ones, just so I can get the case.

  4. I'll check out both Lynda Barry's interview (she's a fav of mine) and Scrivener. I'm torn. I like technology, but I also like things I can hold.:)

  5. I recently resorted to the same thing (but not for the first time). I imagine myself as a movie director story-boarding, each card a scene or camera perspective.

  7. Mostly I just feel like I'm faking the whole, "I'm an author" thing.
With the index cards in hand I feel serious!
